Lesson 2: Modals of obligation 

I learned:
We use must/ must not to talk about strong obligations that came from an outside authority
Example: You must stop at red light

We use have to/ have got to to talk about strong present obligations that often come from outside the speaker
Example: You have to wear a sweater

Use don´t have to or don´t need to talk about a lack of obligation in the present or future
Example: You didn´t have to take the bus

Use should to talk about obligations and duties in the future, present or past and give advice
Ex: You should eat vegetables

Used supposed to to talk about what people have to do according to rules or about what is expected to happen 
Ex:  She's supposed to have a lot of money

 Use had toto talk about past and reported obligations
Ex: When I was in school we all had to wear uniforms

Use should+have+past participle to criticize your own or other´s people behavior in the past
Ex: You shouldn´t have punished her

Frankie Dunn has trained and managed some incredible fighters during a lifetime spent in the ring . After a painful separation from his daughter, Frankie has long been unable to get close to another person. His only friend was Scrap , an ex -boxer who looks after Frankie's gym . Then Maggie Fitzgerald appeared one day in his gym . Maggie has never had much , but it has something that very few people in the world has : she knews what she wanted and was willing to do whatever it takes to get it. In a life of constant struggle , Maggie has come to where she is thanks to her  talent ,concentration and tremendous willpower. But more than anything,she just wanted someone to believe in her.But the last thing Frankie needed in this world is to assume that kind of responsibility .In a very very straight wayFrankie described to Maggie the sad reality : she is too old , and he does not train girls. . Unable to leave her greatest ambition in this life , Maggie strives every day in the gym , with only the support of Scrap . Finally , convinced by the unwavering determination of Maggie , Frankie agrees to train her .
Things were going well until t Maggie was hit in a fight very hard and falls into a chair and so her spine was irreparable. Never again would move. She was suffering so much Frankie so she asked him a favor: to help her to die so she would not feel anything more .
